Celebrating the New Year

First, a romantic and nostalgic date. Our very first date was ringing in the New Year (1998) in Hanover, NH. He invited me. I showed up. Some magical things happened. We got married. And 12 years later we're still in town to celebrate on the Dartmouth Green. We visited his dorm and walked around the Christmas lit Green. Talking and laughing about fun memories and being glad they are just that: memories. We're happy to be 12 years down the road with 4 great kids and training almost done. Thanks Arne and Shaunie for celebrating the New Year with our crazy kids at your house! We had a wonderful time and so did they!

We've been doing some other stuff, too. Just taking advantage of the New Year holiday. A few of the Chipmunk kids. 20+ kids glued to the show the whole time = Two Thumbs Up!

'Tis the season for this, too.

But the favorite activity right now is definitely the sledding.
New Years' Day sledding on fresh snow (and still coming down!) A new spot: Shaker Hill. Whoa.

The brave ones.

It was fun to have another mom at the top holding her breath as we watched our sons and her nephews doing some pretty speedy antics. Thanks, Kristin!

And thank you for the hot chocolate, too!

Love those rosy cheeks (and those sleepy kids!) Hiking back up that hill was a full days work.

Of course, we had to come home and finish some sledding on our little backyard track.

Welcome 2010!
